August 24, 1917 - December 13, 1968
Leroy Jones, 51, of Junction City died Friday in a local hospital following a brief illness. Born in Junction City, Ark., August 24, 1917, he was the son of Jack and Mattie Bennett Jones. He was a member of Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church and a member of Pride of Junction City Masonic Lodge No. 125. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Gennie C. Jones and a son, Ollie Jones, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and a brother, Fred Jones, of St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Ezelle Charles officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be held by Pride of Junction City Masonic Lodge No. 125. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary. The family will be at the home of the Rev. L. A. Austin in Junction City. (El Dorado Times - December 17, 1968)
