Helen Kathleen "Kat" Smith, age 84 of Camden went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2012. Kat was born February 13, 1928 to WT "Thurl" & Eunice Lewis of Reader, AR. She married the love of her life, Vernie, and they enjoyed 65 years together. They are together again sharing a mansion in heaven. Her parents, husband Vernie, son Allan Smith, brother Billy Lewis, and sister Eloise Wheelington preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Mike Smith and wife, Barbara, of North Little Rock, granddaughters, Chrissy Bryant of Camden, Casey Daniel and husband, Nick, of West Virginia, grandson, Tyson Smith of Locust Bayou. Kat is survived by many great grandchildren including, Hailey and Houston Bryant of Camden, Anna Beth, Seth and Parker Lily Daniel all of West Virginia; and Tanner and Tom Smith of Locust Bayou and special loves, niece, Darleen Wheelington and nephew Dale Wheelington. Although blood did not make them family, Kat’s heart made family of Barbara’s children Dawn and Brian, their children, Christopher, Jacob, Emily, Whitney, Meagan, and that precious baby, Maci. There are dozens more nieces, nephews, and friends left to celebrate her life. Kat will be cremated with a graveside service to be held Saturday, July 7th at 10:30 a.m. at the Bluff City Cemetary, Bluff City, Arkansas. Friends and family members will gather after the service at the home of Darleen Wheelington, 1825 Fairview Road, Camden.
