October 14, 1894 - December 30, 1944
Charles D. Smith, age 50, died at the home of his brother, Clifton Smith of Chidester at 6 a.m. Saturday. He is the son of the late W. C. Smith who died in 1916. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Victoria Smith of Chidester; four sisters, Mrs. Katie Arnold and Miss Willie Smith of Chidester, Miss Susie Crow of Star City and Mrs. Dollie Harris of El Dorado; two brothers, Clifton J. and Thomas B. of Chidester. Funeral services were in the home of Clifton Smith in Chidester at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with burial in the Missouri Cemetery. Rev. Nabors assisted by Rev. Hale officiating. Proctors Mortuary was in charge. (Camden News - January 1, 1945)
