John Wesley Powell, 73, died Sunday in a local hospital. He had made his home in the Brentwood area for the past 26 years. He was a retired barber and merchant, born July 8, 1890 in Alabama, the son of Sam and Maud Speer Powell, and was a member of the Brentwood Community Church. Survivors include the widow, Lilly M. of the home and one brother, T.H. Powell of Rogers.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Brentwood Community Church. Burial in the Brentwood Cemetery under direction of Moore's Chapel.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Powell, 87, of Fayetteville, died Thursday in a local hospital. Born Dec. 17, 1894, at Belleville, Ark., the daughter of James and Rosa Downes Bulger, she was a retired beauty operator, a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the First Baptist Church in Prairie Grove.

Survivors are a brother, John Bulger of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three nieces, Mrs. Darlene Marshall of Farmington, Mrs. Marlene Powell of Little Rock and Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Harrigan of Las Vegas, Nev., and two nephews, Ricky Bulger of Prairie Grove and Pat Bulger of California.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Brentwood Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
