Wife of Benjamin Asa Phillips
August 11, 1872 - December 30, 1969
Mrs. B. A. Phillips, 97, of Mt. Holly, died in a Magnolia hospital Tuesday afternoon. Born Aug. 11, 1872, in the Marysville Community, she was the daughter of Dr. John Martin and Georgia McNare McHenry. Survivors include three sons, Chester Phillips, El Dorado, Foster Phillips, Magnolia, and Armer Phillips, Mt. Holly; two daughters, Mrs. Burton Machen, Mt. Holly, and Mrs. Gordon Wilson, Magnolia; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Hancock of Oakdale, La.; eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel Methodist Church near Mt. Holly. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia. The body was taken Wednesday afternoon to the Burton Machen home in Mt. Holly. (El Dorado Times - December 31, 1969)
