Marzelle Phillips, 82, of El Dorado passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
She was born December 11, 1928 in Buckner, AR to Howard Vickers and Iva May Byrd Vickers. Marzelle worked as the bookkeeper for Ken's Discount and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She loved camping and fishing and most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Archie Phillips and her brothers Doyle and Carol Wayne Vickers.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Blackmon and her husband Ken of El Dorado; two granddaughters, Kendra Walden and her husband Justin of Wichita, KS and Kim Smith and her husband Josh of Smackover; a grandson, Odie Blackmon and his wife Betsy of Nashville, TN; a sister, Norma Hairston (Reggie) of Shreveport, LA and two great-grandchildren, Marley Smith and Karson Walden.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Harrison and Rev. Tommy Mellinger officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
