Archie Phillips, 79, of El Dorado passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Medical Center of South Arkansas.
He was born June 5, 1929 in Mt. Holly to Armour Benjamin Phillips and Eula Mae Whiddon Phillips. He loved fishing, deer hunting, and his grandkids. He was an Air Force Veteran, retired from El Dorado Fire Department, a driver for ABF Transportation and a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marzelle Phillips; daughter, Dolores Blackmon and husband Ken of El Dorado; granddaughters, Kendra Ann Blackmon of Little Rock, Kim Smith and husband Josh of Smackover; and grandson, Odie Blackmon of Nashville, TN.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Parkview Baptist Church with Revs. Tommy Mellinger and Harold Diffie officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 608 W. 8th, El Dorado, AR 71730.
The family will be at the Blackmon residence at 363 Agnes Rd.
