FARMINGTON — Pattie Oxford, born Patricia Ann Shepard to Guy and Thelma Shepard on Feb. 17, 1949, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2009, after a long battle with leukemia. She was a resident of Farmington.

Pattie, also known as "Pat Ann" by family and old friends, was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She worked at J.B. Hunt Transport for 22 years where her coworkers enjoyed her quick wit, infectious smile and resounding laugh. A tough and tender patriot, Pattie worked hard, played hard, and loved her family, her friends, her work and her country.

Pattie is survived by son-in-law and daughter, Jon and Cecily Poulsom of Fayetteville; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Steven Schmitt of Fayetteville; stepfather and mother, Dr. Tom B. and Thelma Watson of Lavaca; sister, Sharon Cashmore of Bentonville; grandchildren, Karina Hunt, Thomas Poulsom, Carly Poulsom, Zane Michael Schmitt and Crosby Schmitt, all of Fayetteville; nephew, William Allred of Fayetteville; and niece, Britainee Cashmore of Bentonville.

Services were held at Dec. 31 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Don Carter officiating. Burial was in Roller-Gateway Ridge Cemetery in Gateway.
