Former Saw Mill Operator Dies
James Dewey Oxford, 61, a retired saw mill operator, died Sunday morning in the Rogers Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past six days.
His home was at 110 Allen street here.
Oxford was born in the Clifty community on July 22, 1898.
He was married at Clifty Oct. 12, 1919, to the former Miss Ada Leona Kirk, who survives him.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Burns Funeral Home.
Besdies the widow, survivors include his mother, Mrs. Meldora Townsend Oxford, a son, Burty Green Oxford of Rogers; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Miles, of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Neoma Lawson, of Rogers; three brothers, Jeff Oxford, of Portland, Ore., Lem Oxford, of Jane, Mo., and Delbert Oxford, of Chico, Calif., four sisters, Mrs. Dicie Kirk and Mrs. Allie Stephens, both of Oroville, Calif., Mrs. Oma Borders, of Bellsville, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Eastep, of Rogers; and 12 grandchildren.
