Thursday, September 6, 1894
OXFORD, Hamp - Hamp Oxford, who was wanted by the officers for robbery, was found dead last Monday between Jake Smith's and White River, near the Wishon ford. He was shot through the head and in the heart with a 44-caliber ball. An inquest was held and the jury returned a verdict that he had been killed by some unknown person.
