Samuel Elmer Carter, 66, a resident of Elkins, died yesterday. He was born in Durham and was a member of the Methodist Church and the Elkins Lions Club.
Survivors: His widow, Nellie L. Carter of the home; two sons, Jack and Jim, both of Elkins; one stepson, John Layton of Elkins; two daughters, Patty and Betty Gale, both of the home; two brothers, Eddie, Buena Park, Calif, and Dennis of Fullerton, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Johnson, Brea Canyon, Calif., Mrs. Zora Fields and Mrs. Eddis Fields, both of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Jessie Harris, Fullerton, Calif.; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral will he at 2 p.m. Monday at the Elkins Community Church. Burial will be at McCord Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
