Lake H. Carter, 70, lifelong resident or West Fork, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 16, 1896 in West Fork, the son of Garland and Laura Reed Canter. He was a former state Highway Department employe and a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include his step-mother, Mrs. Ada Carter of West Fork; one son, Kenneth of Van Nuys, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Newlin of West Fork, Mrs. Mildred Barlow of Springdale and Mrs. Helen Reynolds of Tulsa; two half brothers, Tom and Hearl Carter of West Fork; three half-sisters, Mrs. Nell Ray of West Fork, Mrs. Mary Threlkeld of Pleasant Ridge, Mich. and Mrs. Thelma Williams of Dearborn, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at West Fork Christian Church with burial in West Fork Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
