KING, Mrs. W.B. - Mrs. W.B. King died at her home in this city on Monday morning at six o'clock of pneumonia. She had been sick just eight days. Mr. King was at New Orleans, La. when she died and arrived here yesterday morning. He was quite ill when the news of his wife's sickness reached him and was unable to travel sooner. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at one o'clock at the M.E. Church, South and were conducted by Rev. White. The public schools were dismissed for the afternoon in order that the teachers might attend the funeral. Miss Lulu King, a daughter of the deceased, was last year one of our public school teachers. This year she has been attending the state normal school in Louisiana and arrived here yesterday morning with her father. Mrs. King was born in Madison parish, La. and was 56 years old at the time of her death. She was married in 1865. She was the mother of eight children, all of whom are living. Two of them, Dr. A.C. King and Mrs. J.D. Haring, both of New Orleans, arrived in the city on last Friday. Julian King has been clerking here in J.E. Applegate's drug store.
