SPRINGDALE — Wiley Albert Davis, 88, of Springdale died Sept. 4, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 8, 1919, in St. Paul to Henry Sherman and Millie Mae Foutch Davis. He married Mattie Willine Cater on April 2, 1938. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a disabled veteran. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after many years of service. He was a charter member of Pleasant Street Church of Christ, where he served as minister and elder for several years. He enjoyed writing songs and poetry and was author of the book, "Along the Kings Highway."
Survivors include his wife, Willine Davis of the home; four children, Albert W. Davis and wife Vera of Springdale, Larry R. Davis and wife Karen of Conway, Jeffery A. Davis and wife Regina of Springdale, Kathy Upchurch and husband Bill of Little Rock; one sister, Mary Baker of Springdale; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Street Church of Christ with Larry Branum and Paul Woodhouse officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, online at www.heritageofnwa.com. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Moments of Inspiration, 1020 S. Pleasant St., Springdale, 72764.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ron Davis, Ezra Davis, Travis Davis, Brandon Davis, Kris Upchurch, Ryan Tschaekofske and Kash Gladden.

SPRINGDALE — Mattie "Willine" Davis, 90, of Springdale, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Hartman, Ark., to William H. and Mattie Pearl Smith Cater.
Mrs. Davis was married for 69 years to Wiley Albert Davis. Together, they were charter members of the Pleasant Street Church of Christ.
She was an artist and enjoyed oil painting and painting on china.
She was also active in local garden and social clubs.
Many of her nieces and nephews considered her their second mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007; and by a sister, Thelma Duncan, in May of this year.
She is survived by four children, Albert Davis and wife, Vera, of Springdale, Larry Davis and wife, Karen, of Conway, Jeff Davis and wife, Regina, of Springdale, and Kathy Upchurch and husband, Bill, of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Pleasant Street Church of Christ, with Brother Larry Branum and Pastor Charlie Foster officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale; online guest book at www.heritageofnva.com.
