White River Currant
Vernon Marion Ferguson of Mount Pleasant, son of the late Marion Joseph and Francis Brooks Ferguson was born Jul 12, 1924 in Mount Pleasant. He died August 11, 1996 in Batesville. He was 72.
Survivors include his wife Claudia Arnold Ferguson of the home; two sons, Don and Ronnie Ferguson, both of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Betty Campbell of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Verdell Ferguson of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Grace Johnson and Jewell Bray of Mount Pleasant; and Ethel Walker of East Wenatchee, Washington; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Graveside services were held August 13, 1996 with Brother Jim Sanders officiating.
Pallbearers were H.C. McKee, Shelby Upton, Ed Jones, Leland Sandy, Travis Moser and Bud Campbell. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons Phil Ferguson, Russ Evans, Elliott Sampley, Brian McTigue, Randy Franks and Chad Walker.
Arrangements were under the direction of Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne
