Services For Muncy Ferguson Saturday

Muncy Shelby Ferguson, son of the late Fletcher and Jane Ferguson was born March 11, 1883 at Oxford, Arkansas and passed away November 27, 1958 in a Batesville hospital at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 16 days. Mr. Ferguson was ill for several months but his final serious illness was only of short duration.

In 1914 he was married to Miss Rhea McNeece also of Oxford. They were the parents of one child, a daughter, Dorothy Rhea.

Most of his life was spent in Izard County,

He became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 280 at Union, Arkansas.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Nelson E. Owen of Abilene, Texas, two grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Emma Cargyle Cushing, Okla., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services for the deceased were held Saturday afternoon, November 29 at the Oxford Methodist-Presbyterian Church with Rev. Hugh Cooper of Melbourne and Rev. Remmel Rowden of Oxford as officiating ministers. The song service was directed by Hoyt Rowden with Mrs. Tressie Edmonston at the piano. Concluding services were held and burial was made in the Oxford Cemetery with Carter Funeral Service of Salem in charge. Casket bearers were; Fletcher Yancey, Earl McVey, Hayden Helm, Edison Dillard, Horace Yancey and John Taylor.
