Bennie N. Wood, 74, Rt. 5, Fayetteville, died Oct. 3 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Aug. 18, 1902, to Edd and Ivy Stillwell Wood of the Round Mountain community near Fayetteville, he was a lifelong resident of Round Mountain, a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of the Round Mountain Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Johnson Wood of the home; five sons, James, Donald, Claude and Freddie Wood, Fayetteville, and Virgil Wood, Rogers; one brother, Howard Wood, Earp, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Pifer, Fayetteville, and Mrs. Jenell Peacock, Reno, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Round Mountain Baptist Church with burial in the Round Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
