PEA RIDGE — Betty Delores Sanders, 81 of Pea Ridge, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 6, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born Dec. 19, 1930, at Atwood, Kan., to Ernest and Lois Escue. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching her great-grandsons play Blackhawk Football. Betty was a wonderful cook and liked nothing better than cooking for her friends and family. She was a member of the Ozark Arts Council in Harrison and supported her granddaughters' theater work. She also loved bluegrass music and was the biggest fan of her brother's bluegrass band. Betty loved her Lord and was a faithful charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Pea Ridge. She worked for over 20 years, up until the time of her death, at Escue Wood Products.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Sanders in 1997; two sisters, Melva Anderson and Merna Most; and her sisters-in law and dear friends, Billie Sue Escue and Martha Escue. Survivors are three daughters, Linda (Rick) Whitaker of Pea Ridge, Patricia (Eric) Stefanski of Harrison, and Kathy (Rick) Blevins of Lowell; a stepson, Lee Sanders of Tennessee and a stepdaughter, Phyllis (Mike) Martin of California; two brothers, Keith Escue and John Escue both of Pea Ridge; six grandchildren, Joshua (Katrina) Whitaker, Amanda (Jeff) Trammell, Amy (Preston) Stokes, Julianna Stefanski Bradley Evans and Katie Stefanski; six great-grandchildren, Seth, Adam and Rebecca Trammell, Ezekiel, Claire and Ada Whitaker, and marry nieces and nephews.
Visitation is set for Monday, April 9, 6-8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Service is set for Tuesday, April 10, 2 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Highway 94 north of Pea Ridge, with Pastor Neil Vanderbush officiating.
Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
