EDWARDS, David - (from The Gravett News) David Edwards was born in Ash county, N.C. Nov. 25, 1816 and died at the home of his son, R. Edwards, near Hiwasse, Feb. 7, 1911, aged 94 years, 2 months and 7 days. "Uncle Davie," as he was called by many of his friends, was older than the railroads yet he never rode on a train, walking being his favorite mode of traveling. He lived to see his country develop from 18 to 46 prosperous states.
