LONG, James W. - Invited To Gettysburg - Official Invitation, from the U.S. Government, together with all instructions, was received last week by "Uncle Jimmy" Long, to attend the Blue-Gray reunion at Gettysburg, Penn. Uncle Sam pays all veteran's expenses, Blue or Gray, including an attendant from his home town, and pays the veteran $6 per day. Uncle Jimmy feels unable to make the trip.

LONG, Susan Jane Ivy SMITH - Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Christian Church in Gravette for Mrs. Susan Jane Ivy Long, who passed away at her home in Gravette Thursday, Jan. 23rd after an illness of several months. Burial was made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. She was born in Benton County, Missouri Dec. 3d, 1852 and spent her early days there. She was married to James W. Long in 1869 and moved to Pea Ridge where they resided for many years. They also spent a few years in Ringo, Texas and moved to Gravette about 12 years ago where she has lived since. She united at an early age with the Christian church and lived a true Christian life. She is survived by her aged husband, a Confederate veteran, and one brother, Chas. V. Smith, and other near relatives.
