GREENVILLE, Texas — D. Scot Long, 40, of Greenville, Texas, died July 12, 2010, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Jordan officiating and eulogy read by Ron Marshall. Burial will follow in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 15, 2010, at Coker- Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas.

The only child of David Oakley and Pamela Ileen Bailey Long, Scot was born March 22, 1970, in Fayetteville, Ark. Scot graduated from Southside High School of Fort Smith, Ark., in 1988. He then graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1992 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. A loving husband of 18 years, he married Jennifer on Aug. 8, 1992, in Springdale. Ark. Scot was employed by L-3 Communications and was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.

Scot is survived by his parents, David Oakley and Pamela Ilene Long, of Springdale, Ark.; his wife, Jennifer Long of Greenville, Texas. He was the devoted and loving daddy to sons, David Alexander Long and Ethan Scot Long, and daughter, Audrey Ranae Long.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the Rev. Oakley and Ruth Long and Nelda Bailey.

Pallbearers will be Steve Holley, Jim Hodo, Dan Crenshaw, Frank Wooten, Scott Jones and Aaron Conner.

David and Pamela will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at their home, 1704 Granada Drive, in Springdale.
