Madeline Edith Long, 86, of Rogers passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, in Rogers. Mrs. Long was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Yarmouth, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence Roscoe Howell and Nellie Viola McCabe Howell. She
formerly owned and operated a dry cleaning business. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Rogers. Madeline moved to Rogers in 1980 from San Diego.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carlson Long, in 1988, and two sons, Ronald Dean and Michael James Long; three brothers, DeLoyd, Denver and Jack Howell.
She is survived by one son, Joseph F. Long of Colorado; one daughter, Barbara Ellison of Rogers; four brothers, Lawrence Howell Jr. and Edwin Gene Howell, both of California, Ernest Samuel Howell of Severy, Kan., and Gerald Asa Howell of Wellington, Kan.; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30 at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers with Jackie Chestnutt officiating. Interment will follow in Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
