DEAN, Norman A. - (from Avoca) Norman A. Dean was born in Benton county Oct. 8, 1862 and died March 23, 1916. Funeral services were conducted at Avoca by Rev. D. Stewart of Rogers and he was buried beside his brother at Tuck's Chapel. Mr. Dean was married to Miss Mary E. Cockrell of Brightwater January 29, 1907 who is left to mourn the great loss to her. Mr. Dean was not a member of any order or church but lived out the principles of honesty and good citizenship. Mr. Dean was the Frisco section foreman here and was out at work with the hands on the morning of the 23d when he suddenly dropped his shovel and fell to the ground and was dead in a short time. A large crowd of friends and neighbors attended the funeral and the section hands acted as pall bearers. The widow certainly has the sympathy of this community.
