*Obituary
Benton County Record
Friday, April 18, 1924
Moses John Wells was born December 30th, 1859, in Freestone county, Texas. Departed this life April 8th, 1924. He came to Yell county, Ark., and lived one year, then moved to Benton county.
He professed faith in Christ in the fall of 1886 while in the field at work and joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and lived a true Christian life until death.
He was married on December 2nd, 1897, to Edna L. Galyean, who with nine children are left to mourn his departure--one daughter having passed away January 16, 1917.
He was only sick eight hours and his wife was the only one with him at the time of his death.
Ola Barnwell, of Row, Okla.; Lue Callis, of Grove, Okla.; Gerzilda Hendren, of Miami, Okla.; Alex Wells, of Fortescue, Mo., and Herman Wells, of Gravette, were present at the funeral. Caire Wells, of Spokane, Wash.; Jessie Holt, of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; Eva Hatcher, of Clarkfork, Idaho, and Docia Allen, of Hamburg, Iowa, did nor get here. He also leaves one sister and a half-sister and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral was conducted at the Mt. Pleasant church on Thursday, April 10th, by Rev. Roy Daugherty. The body was laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
He is gone, but oh, what a great consolation that it won't be long until we can all go to him to that blissful home above:
Edna
