Meta Carlton Wells was born at Russellville, Ark. July 31st, 1890. She came with her parents, J.W. and Maggie Wells, to Bentonville, Ark. in 1895. She was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, South August 3rd, 1902. Meta was a model christian in the home, always reading the scriptures at time of family prayers. Being gifted in elocution and having been trained by her parents in the meaning of the scriptures and knowing them in an experimental way, it was a delight to hear her read them. Being loving in disposition, by grace divine, she seemed to have a heart o'erflowing with love for everyone. To her parents, brothers and sister she was a devoted unselfish daughter and sister. After a long period of severe affliction which she bore meekly and submissively, her pain stricken body fell on sleep and she saw Him face to face on the morning of Thursday, September 2nd, 1904. Marion Nelson Waldrip.
