Mrs. Artha Irene Wilbur Foster Wilson of Mt. Home, formerly of Norfork, died Tuesday (April 13, 1999) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. She was 92.
She was born Artha Irene Wilbur on April 8, 1907. at Advance to Clarence and Mary Wilbur. She married Ben Foster (deceased) in 1926 and the married John Wilson (deceased) of Yellville in 1953. A merchant in Norfork for many years, she operated an antique store in Norfork for 30 years following John's death. She moved to Mt. Home three years ago after her retirement and recently to her son's home on Push Mt. Road, south of Lone Rock near where she was born.
She is survived by a son, Edward Ray Foster and his wife Juanita; five grandchildren, Lyndell Boyd, Lethell Boyd, and his wife Diane, Chyrl Ripple and her husband Larry, Phyllis May and her husband Kent, and Carol Steele and her husband Wendell; 13 great grandchildren, Gregory Boyd, Alisa Ripple Hester, Kerri Boyd Wynn, Timothy Boyd, Jayson Cotter, Dean Ripple, Dustan Steele, Charity Boyd, Derek May, Daniel May, Faith Boyd, Darci May, Hope Boyd; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, her husbands and a daughter, Oleta Boyd.
Visitation will be from 12 to 8PM today, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8PM.
Services will be Friday at 10AM at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Brewer, Irvin Barnes and Bruce Roebuck officiating. Burial will be at the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery at Lone Rock.
Pallbearers will be; Jayson Cotter, Tim Boyd, Greg Boyd, Scott Wynn, Daniel May and Derek May. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Wilber, Alvie Boyd, O.C. Simpson, Bobby Simpson, Charles Howard and Albert Kemp.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery Fund at Lone Rock.

(Note: The gravestone makes it appear that Wilbur was her surname when in fact, she had gone by the surname of Wilson for the last 46 years of her life. What makes this even more intriguing is the fact that she apparently purchased the gravestone and thus ordered the inscription since the marker was pre-set for a significant period of time prior to her death.)
