James Marcy Wilson, 82, a lifetime resident of the Old Joe community, died Nov 22, at the Calico Rock Medical Center. He had been a laborer and a Baptist.
Born Aug 26, 1897, in Baxter County, he was the son of the late Betty Baker Wilson and Thomas Wilson. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, one son, one brother, two sisters and three great grandchildren.
He and the former Ethel May Ellis were married Dec 25, 1918 in Salesville. Other survivors include five sons, Kermit Wilson of Old Joe community, Hayes Wilson of Jacksonville, Vernon Wilson of Norfork, William T. Wilson of Mt. Home and Colburt Wilson of Mt. Home; one daughter, Carmen C. Crow of Charleston, WV; one brother, John Wilson of Lake City; one sister Addie Adkins of North Little Rock; 34 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Old Galatia Church in Norfork with Rev. Troy Melton officiating.
Pallbearers wer Ross Alexander, Bud Malone, Art Deserisy, Forrest Cotter, Jerry Jones and Marvin Sherrill.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Simpson and Harvey McGown.
Interment took place at Galatia Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Roller Funeral Home.
