Eugene the son of James Alexander and Earlie Gray Jones. Willene the daughter of Roy Foster Stewart and Nettie (Weir) Stewart.

Eugene Victor Jones, 85, of Imboden, died March 15, 2008, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab.

Born Oct. 9, 1922, was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force. He was a retired regional administrator for the Department of Human Services. He was charter member of the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Lions Club. He was a member of the American Legion and the Imboden Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willene Stewart Jones, on March 16, 2002; and two brothers, Justin Jones and Lester Jones; and a sister, Edith Bilbrey.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Jones and wife Rebecca, and Jim Jones and wife Patsy, all of Imboden; two sisters, Pauline Craig, Powhatan, and Ruby Jones, Imboden; three grandchildren, Chris Jones, Stephanie Mason and Jeremy Jones; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Imboden Methodist Church with Rev. Bob McMillon officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Imboden under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.

Pallbearers were Danny Rowsey, Ben Starr, David Craig, David Stewart, Gary Russell, Steve Prestige, Mike Hottel and Bill Rowsey. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Stacy, Terry Rorex, Ralph Jean, Oland Goad, Austin Stovall, Wade Bellah, Ancel Matthews, Paul White, Larry Steele, Joe Justus, Davis Matthews, Steve Huddleston, Dan Matthews, Andy Stovall and Dave Statler.

IMBODEN - Willene Jones, 78, of Imboden died Saturday, March 16, at Regional Medical Center of NEA.

Born at Lawrence County, she was a homemaker and a secretary for the Sloan-Hendrix Schools.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Jones of Imboden; two sons, Steve Jones and Jim Jones, both of Imboden; two sisters, Louise Rowsey of Imboden, Daphine Starr of Smithville; and three grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Chris Jones, and Stephanie Mason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie Weir Stewart and Roy F. Stewart, and one brother.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Imboden First United Methodist Church with Billy Barnhill officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery at Imboden. Arrangements are being made by McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Imboden First United Methodist Church.
