May 3, 1882 - December 17, 1969
Mrs. Myrtle Lowery, 87, of 318 W. First St., died Wednesday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness. Born in El Dorado May 3, 1882, she was the daughter of James W. and Elizabeth Whatley Johnson. A lifelong resident of El Dorado, Mrs. Lowery formerly operated the Lowery Sewing Shop on the city square. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Curtis W. Lowery of Lonoke; a daughter, Mrs. Mokie Zylks of El Dorado; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy B. Hilton officiating. Burial will be in Rehobeth Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary.
