*Obituary
William G. Johnson, better known to the citizens of Union county as "Governor", died at his home near Bolding at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning, June 23, 1915, from a cancer in his head from which he had suffered for the past year. In his death the community loses one of her best and oldest citizens, as he was honest in every transaction in life and ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in trouble. He was over sixty years of age and leaves a wife and four grown children. He was faithful member of the Masonic fraternity and his remains were laid to rest in the Harper Springs cemetery at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by the members of Lapile Lodge No. 294 F.& A.M., in the presence of a large number of sorrowing relative and friends.
