Mr. John Gulley Purifoy, 83 of West Memphis, Arkansas, formerly of Prescott, passed away, Thursday, April 5, 2012 in West Memphis, Arkansas. Mr. Purifoy was born November 25, 1928 in Chidester, Arkansas to Lawrence L. and Lottie Gulley Purifoy. He is a retired truck driver with East Texas Motor Freight and a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in West Memphis. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, his son, Michael Purifoy of Marion, Arkansas, his daughter, Gail Hensley and husband, Ken of Wilson, Arkansas, two grandchildren; William Joseph "Joey" Clark and John Michael Purifoy and one great-grandson; William Rye Clark. The Purifoy Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 8 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Graveside service for Mr. Purifoy will be 10:00am, Monday, April 9 at Chidester Cemetery in Chidester, Arkansas. Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland to officiate the service. Burial to follow. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
