August 14, 1888 - August 22, 1961
Mrs. Alice Ever Purifoy, wife of Marshall Elum Purifoy, died in a local hospital early Tuesday morning. She was born August 14, 1888 and was a lifelong resident of Camden. She was a Methodist. Survivors include her husband, four sons; W. A. Purifoy of Hawkins, Texas, Marhall E. Purifoy, Woodrow Purifoy, and Floyd Purifoy, all of Camden; five daughters, Mary Carter, Mrs. Irene Burnham, Mrs. Anna Bell Burton, and Mrs. Alice Pennington, all of Camden. Forty-eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lakeside Methodist Church at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Augst 23, conducted by Rev. Ralph Hale. The body will lie in state at the Forbis Funeral Home until time of the services. Internment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Harold Nichols, J. W. Knight, Ellis Dunn, Robert McLendon, Gerald Gilchrist, and Bill Gilchrist. Burial will be under the direction of the Forbis Funeral Service. (Camden News - August 22, 1961)
