Wayne O. Boyd, 69, of West Fork, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1989, in a Fayetteville hospital.
Born Dec. 28, 1920, at Drake's Creek, the son of Robert Nelson and Flora Lula Counts Boyd, he moved to West Fork 32 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II, was employed in the maintenance department at West Fork schools, and was a member of Drake's Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Violet; three sons, Sammy Boyd, Jimmy Boyd and Jerry Boyd, all of West Fork; three daughters, Carolyn Spillers, Linda Jones and Peggy Phillips, all of West Fork; a brother, Roy Boyd of Drake's Creek; a sister, Ardyth McDougal of Huntsville; 20 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at Nelson's Funeral Home, with burial to Zinnamon Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m at the funeral home.

Violet Sarah Boyd, 68, of West Fork, died April 3, 1993, in West Fork. She was born May 24, 1924, in Drakes Creek, Ark., the daughter of Lawrence and Dessie Thomas Atha. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne O. Boyd; two sons, Sammy Boyd and Ronald "Shorty" Boyd; and a grandson, Jerod Boyd.
Survivors include two sons, James "Jimmy" Boyd and Jerry Boyd, both of West Fork; three daughters, Peggy Phillips of Fayetteville and Carolyn Spillars and Linda Jones, both of West Fork; two brothers, James Atha of Fayetteville and Bobby Joe Atha of Westville, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Nelson's Funeral Home with Jerry Almond officiating. Burial will be in Zinnamon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Edward Boyd, Sammy Boyd, Jason Jones, David Jones, Duane Boyd, Gregory Phillips, Justin Boyd. Thomas Jones and Joshua Boyd.
