SPRINGDALE — Freddie Joe "Fred" Boyd, 76, of Springdale, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Northwest Medical Center. He was born Aug. 5, 1936, in Elm Springs to Vernon Willard and Nora Bookout Boyd.
Fred was an Army veteran and enjoyed time in the outdoors hunting, camping and fishing. He was devoted to his family and especially loved time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Freddie Wayne Boyd and Sandra Jean Boyd; a sister, Mary Jane Hollaway; and a brother, Hubert Boyd.
He is survived by his wife, Gail (Hill) Boyd of the home, whom he married May 23, 1973, in Farmington; four sons, Rick Boyd and wife, Debbie of Rogers, Roger Boyd and wife, Debi, Curtis Boyd and Jeff Dearing, all of Tontitown; one brother, Kenneth Boyd of Wheeler; four grandchildren, Levi Boyd, Cody Boyd, Jessica Dearing and Logan Dearing; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Eden officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery.
