SPRINGDALE — The Rev. Rufus Odus Young, 89, of Springdale died Feb. 5, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born April 5, 1918, in Swain to Isaac B. and Julie Richardson Young.
He was an Army veteran and a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale. He had been a minister since 1952. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virgie Mae Julian.
Survivors include his wife, Lottie Smith Young; two daughters, Wilma J. Bowlin and husband Max of Adrian, Mo., and Wanda Walker of Springdale; a brother, Leonard Young of Elkins; a sister, Bertha Hayes of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Max Bowlin will officiate. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, 72762.

SPRINGDALE - Lottie Aldena Young, 92, of Springdale, left this earth for her eternal home on April 15, 2013. She was born on Oct. 18, 1920, in Dutton, Ark., to Lewis and Cora Smith.
Lottie married Rufus Young on Oct. 12, 1935. They were happily married 72 years and served together in ministry until his death. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Springdale.
Mrs. Young is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rufus; daughter, Virgie Julian; sons-in-law, Johnnie Julian and Pat Walker, and siblings, Trulie, Sylvia, Rufus, Bonnie, J.C., Carroll and Ima Leigh.
Lottie is survived by two daughters, Wanda Faye Walker of Springdale and Jean Bowlin and her husband, Max, of Hindsville; a sister, Rosie Benson; grandchildren, Vickie Philps, Marion George, Terry Witte, Johnnie Russell, Debra LaBounty, Gary LaBounty, Amy Carte, Anthony Baker, Sherry Knott, Daniel Bowlin, and Becky Brandt; 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 19 at Westfield Chapel with the Rev. Max Bowlin officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.
The family suggests that memorial donations may be given to Circle of Life Hospice or a church of your choice.
