John Preston Arnold, aged 84 of El Dorado, formerly of Holly Springs died in an El Dorado hospital at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Arnold was a native of Ouachita County, and a retired millwright. He had helped build sawmills over most of South Arkansas, and East Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Hardin Arnold; two sons, Billy E. Arnold of Tell City, Indiana, and Robert R. Arnold of Tacoma, Washington; three daughters, Mrs. Donald C. Williams of El Dorado, Mrs. Dana Weekly of Marshall, Texas, and Mrs. Ed Grace of Little Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Alvie Herrod of Crossett, and Mrs. L. D. McCoy of Evadale, Texas; and by 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. today at the Proctor Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Holly Springs Cemetery. (Camden News - March 17, 1967)
