When Sarah Jane Kerr was born in 1846 in Tennessee, her father, Joseph, was 29 and her mother, Elizabeth, was 29. She married Jesse England Martin on November 29, 1866. They had eight children in 18 years. She died in January 1889 in Cadron, Arkansas, at the age of 43.
