SPRINGDALE — Nancy Clark, born Nancy Louise Smith on Aug. 19, 1941, in Dallas. Texas, died April 17, 2013, at the Earlene Howard Hospice House.

She grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she married her childhood sweetheart Huston Clark on Oct. 22, 1960. They moved to Springdale, Ark., in 1963. She was best known and loved for her passion of music. She had several bands and played in local music shows, such as The Williams Family Show and Ozark Mountain Music in the '70s and '80s.

Shortly after moving to Springdale, she started teaching private music lessons. In the early '70s, she left teaching from her home to her new venture in owning a music store. Nancy bought TurnTable Music which soon became Musicians Pro Shop in downtown Springdale. After several years, she sold to Sigler Music where she and her students followed. She eventually left the music store and returned home with her students following.

As her career started and continued through her lifetime, there was not an instrument she would not play or teach. She truly enjoyed sharing her talent. Several of her students over the years have gone on to have great success in the music field.

Nancy also composed music for local artists, but her greatest composing was for a group of students which she put together called the Silver Wings Electric Orchestra. They played for several events and recorded two CDs.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Beth Parson; and her parents, Arthur and Irene Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Huston Clark of Springdale; her daughter, Donna Parson and her husband, John, two grandsons, Seth and Sean, all of Springdale.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Fabian Correa and Pastor Jeff Neugent officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Sweetser, Joe Mann, Charles Norman, Phillip Reid, Zed Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Ryan Pollac.
