Farm accident

Charles J. Reading, 58, of Rt. Siloam Springs died in a tractor accident Thursday on his farm.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office reported that Reading apparently died when the tractor on which he was riding overturned, pinning him beneath the rear fender.

The accident was discovered by Reading's wife, Madgelyn, who had become concerned when her husband did not return to his residence for the evening meal.

Charles (Junior) Reading, 58, of Siloam Springs died Thursday at his home. He was born May 1, 1919 in Oklahoma.

He was a farmer and was a member of the First Christian Church or Siloam Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Madgelyn Reading of the home; two daughters, Betty Parker of Fort Worth, Tex. and Phyllis Fist of Tulsa, Okla.; his mother Mrs. Marion Reading of Siloam Springs; four brothers, Gene Reading, Paul Reading and Virgil Reading, all of Siloam Springs and Garland Reading of Fayetteville and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Christian Church with Jack Steele officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Pyeatte Funeral Service of Siloam Springs.

Madgelyn Adams, 93, formerly of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died November 10, 2013, at Butterfield Trail Village, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born August 15, 1920, in Benton County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Galletin Martin and Marjorie Etta Butler Martin. Madgelyn was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles “Junior” Reading; and her second husband Lee Adams.

Survivors include two daughters Bettie Parker of Fort Worth, Texas and Phyllis Fist of Tucson, Arizona and two grandchildren David Parker and Rebecca Bednar.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Fairmount Cemetery, near Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
