Mrs Gerogie Parnell, 92, of Norfork passed away Friday, June 10, 2005, at White River Healthcare in Calico Rock. A funeral will be 10AM today at Norfork United Methodist Chruch with the Rev. Blake Langston officiating. Burial will follow in Galatia Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday.
Mrs. Parnell was born to John and Tilda Hamilton Funkhouser June 24, 1912, in Hopewell. Georgie was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who loved flower gardening. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of Norfork United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Lu (Joe) Ayala of Wichita, KS, Carlotta (Devon) Blanchard of Salesville and Linda Bernice (Bob) Huett of Henderson; one son Sidney (Karen) Pickens of Mt. Home; one step son J.C. (Kay) Pickens of Austin, TX; one brother, Theo (Noram Lea) Funkhouser of Norfork; one sister, Mary (Frank) Adkins of Midway; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one step daughter, two brothers, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
Memorial may be made to White River Healtcare of Hospice of Izard County.

Carl U. Parnell
1921-1984

Funeral services for Carl Utah Parnell will be at 2PM today at the Norfork Methodist Church wit Rev. Gordon Dunham officiating. Mr. Parnell, 62, died Sunday at the Calico Rock Medical Center.
Interment will be in the Galatia Cemetery with Dennis Chapamn, Bruce Cox, Jimmy Parnell, Dale Chapman, David Parnell and Delman Parnell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Pasco Lewis, Lefty Harvey, Dean Franks, Burl Reed and Glaysen May.
Survivors include his wife Georgie, at home; one son, Sidney Pickens of Old Joe; three daughters, Linda Huett of Henderson, Lula Bell Ayala of Wichita, KS and Carlotta Blanchard of Maiden, MO; three brothers, Ralph Parnell of Norfork, Tom Parnell of Calico Rock, and Gene Parnell of Effingham, KS; three sisters, Virgie Cox and Hazel Cox both of Mt. Home, and Lena Chapman of Norfork; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lucy Belle Dickeson Parnell and by three brother.
A lifetime resident of Norfork, Mr. Parnell was born Aug 25, 1921, He was a US Army veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of war. He married Georgie Funkhouser Dec 13, 1958, at Norfork.
