Joseph Delmer Parnell, 59, of Norfork, died in a local hospital June 30. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in Galatia Assembly of God Church with Bro. Oris Vicent and Bro. John Evans of Norfork officiating. Interment was in Galatia Cemetery with Roller-McClure Funeral Service in charge.
Mr. Parnell, a farmer, was born November 21, 1903, and was a lifetime resident of Baxter County. He was the son of the late Solomon Parnell and Lizzie Robeson Parnell. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Theola Parnell of Norfork; four sons, Joe Dean Parnell of Paducah, KY, and Sylvester Parnell, Everett C. Parnell and Jerry L. Parnell of Norfork; a daughter, Maxine Langston of Black Rock; a sister, Pearl Southard of Mt. Home,; seven brothers, Edward Parnell, Earl Parnell , Charley Parnell, Earnest Parnell, Bryan Parnell and Rudolph Parnell, all of Norfork and Randolph Parnell of Mt. Home. He was also survived by four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Vero Hall, Gene Horn, Bill Hall, Carroll Hicks, Will Skidmore and Garland Wickersham.
