Funeral services for Rudolph Carl Parnell of Norfork will be at 2PM today at the Norfork Baptist Chruch with the Rev. Forrest Bynum officiating. Mr Parnell, a life time resident of Baxter County, died Sunday at Baxter Regional Hospital. He was 76.
Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery with Ross Alexander, Gene Alexander, Louis Alexander, Thurl Whitaker, Thurlo Sisk and Nelson Sailor serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include; Ralph Parnell, Eugene Waire, Willie Parnell, Hurshel Perry, Oscar Chapman, Richard Parnell, Verl Beucke and Vero Hall.
Survivors include his wife Iva, at home; three sons, Carl Dean King, Lawrence Parnell and Keith Parnell, all of Norfork; three daughters, Marijo McFall and Janice Gragg both of Norfork and Carol Winchester of Kansas City, MO; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Soloman and Elizabeth Robertson Parnell; nine brothers and two sisters.
Mr Parnell, who was retired from the Corps of Engineers, was born Oct 28, 1908, at Old Joe. He ws a US Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Norfork VFW Post. He married Iva Alexander, Oct 3, 1947, at Mt Home; Mr Parnell was a Baptist.
