DOUGLAS, Bertha CAWOOD - {from High Top} Bertha, wife of Earl Douglas, passed away Saturday at the age of twenty-five years. She had been a sufferer of tuberculosis for many months. She leaves a young husband and two year old daughter, besides her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Cawood, and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 by Elder J.A. Fair and burial was made in the Centerton cemetery. Many attended and there were many beautiful flowers.

Died, May 17th, 1919 at her home near Bentonville on Route 3, Mrs. Earl Douglas, nee Bertha Cawood, in the 25th year of her age. Deceased was born in Virginia in 1894 and came to Arkansas with her parents when a child. In 1914 she was united in the sacred bond of matrimony to Earl Douglas. To this union was born one son, who is now 22 months old. Some few weeks ago Mrs. Douglas confessed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and when death drew nigh she left the comforting assurance that she was going to that life above. She is survived by her husband and little son, Chester, a father, mother, three sisters and several brothers, all who live on Route 3 and who were with her when death came, with the exception of one brother, Tom, who died in an army camp in October. The funeral services were held at the home of the deceased Sunday, May 18th by the Rev. J.A. Fair of Centerton after which burial was made in the Centerton cemetery.
