Herbert Neal Russell of Melbourne, son of the late Herbert Joe and Maxine Pearling Guthrie Russell, was born May 25, 1933 in Batesville. He died July 3, 1999 in Mountain Home. He was 66.

Mr Russell was united in marriage to Doris Dell Miller on June 18, 1951 in Melbourne. To this union two sons were born. He was a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. During his working years, he was a long-time employee of McDonald Douglas. He was also a gunsmith and pilot.

Mr Russell was a Mason and a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Russell of the home; two sons, Mike Russell and Jerry Russell both of Melbourne; one sister, Marie Long of Shelly, Idaho; two brothers, Johnny Russell of Haskell and Robert Russell of Dolph and three grandsons, Joe Michael Russell, Jeremy Russell and Jody Russell, all of Melbourne. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jerrie Talburt.

Funeral services were held July 5, 1999 at the First Baptist Church of Melbourne with Reverend Doyne Robertson officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Miller, Wayne Harvell, Y. D. Whitehurst, Bill Nash, Noel Jeffery and Vance Tate. Honorary pallbearers were Ernest Hayden and Reed Wilcox.

Burial was at Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.
