Son of Joseph R. "Joe" & Martha Jane Harvey Russell.
Married Mollie Bell Dillard, November 13, 1902, Pineville, Izard County, Arkansas.

J. T. Russell Passed Away

John Thomas Russell of Calico Rock, Ark. son of the late Joe and Martha Jane Russell was born at Nashville, Tenn. January 31st, 1881 and departed this life September 30, 1955, at the age of 74 years, 8 months after an illness of about 5 years.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and lived a devout Christian life.

He is survived by his wife, Mollie and 8 children, Ershel, Darrell and Hubert of Calico Rock; Sherman of Sunflower, Kan.; Herbert of Mtn. Home, Ark.; Inez Ward of Fifty-six, Ark.; Vernice Herd and Lorene Bell of Calico Rock, Ark.; two sisters and three brothers; several grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 2nd at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Calico Rock. Rev. Charles Casteel of Calico Rock and Miss Mary Chaffin of Melbourne officiating. Burial was in Pineville cemetery under direction of Hall Funeral Home of Calico Rock. Casket bearers were: Dr. Copp, C. A. Jones, Garland Shelton, Austin Harris, Joe Matthews and Newt Caple.
