Earshell died in Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas. Dessie born in Iuka, Izard County, Arkansas and died in Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas.

Earshell D. Russell of Pineville, Ark., died Thursday, June 9, 1977 at the Calico Rock Medical Center.

Born to John and Mollie Dillard Russell, he was a retired farmer, a Methodist and a resident of Arkansas all of his life. He married in June 1928. His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include; 1 son, Kenneth Russell of Mtn. Home; 1 daughter, Mrs. Boyce Hicks of Calico Rock; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Inez Ward, Mrs. Verniece Sexton, and Mrs. Lorene Bell all of Calico Rock.

Funeral services were held at the Howard Chapel at Calico Rock Saturday, June 11, 1977 with Rev. Edwin Sain and Rev. Gordan Donham officiating.

Burial was in the Wayland Arbor Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Howard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dessie Russell Of Iuka, Dies

Mrs. Dessie McClow Russell, of Iuka was born July 21, 1903 at Iuka, Ark. She departed this life on November 4, 1958 at the North Arkansas Clinic at Batesville, at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 15 days.

She was united in marriage to Ershel Russell, June 17, 1928.

To this union six children were born, four of whom preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Ershel Russell; one daughter, Boyce Hicks of Calico Rock, Ark., one son Kenneth Russell of Calico Rock, Ark.; one grandson, Russell Joe Hicks of Calico Rock, Ark.; her mother, Mrs. Annie Killian of Iuka, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Young of Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Meck Wayland of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Ruth Woodcock of Iuka, Ark.; two brothers, Hayden Killian of Kansas City, Kan., Virgie Killian of Norfork, Ark.; several other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Russell joined the Iuka Methodist Church August 20, 1934 and was a faithful attendant as long as her health would permit. She had been in ill health for a long time.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 6 at 2 p.m. at the Pineville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Otho Strayhorn of Calico Rock officiating. Burial was made in Wayland Arbor Cemetery under direction of the Hall Funeral Home.
