Son of John Thomas Russell & Mollie Bell Dillard Russell.
Married Maxine Pearline Guthrie, July 17, 1932, Stone County, Arkansas.

Herbert Russell Passes Away
Herbert Joe Russell of Monte Vista, Colorado was born on May 14, 1912 at Pineville, Ark. He departed this life June 16, 1967 at the age of 55 years, one month and two days. He professed his faith in Christ 23 years ago. He was united in marriage to Miss Maxine Guthrie at Newhope, Arkansas. To this union five children were born, all are living. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Neal of Melbourne, Ark.; Johnny of the U. S. Navy; Robert of the home; two daughters, Gerldine Talbert of West Plains, Mo.; Marie Long of Monta Vista, Colorado; five grandchildren, also survived by his mother, Mrs. Molly Russell of Calico Rock and the late John T. Russell who preceded him in death; three sisters, Inez Ward of Mtn. View, Vernice Herd, Lorene Bell both of Calico Rock, Arkansas; four brothers, Earshell and Darrell of Calico Rock; Sherman Russell and Hubert of Mtn. Home and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 18, 1967 at Monta Vista, Colorado.
Mr. Russell was laid to rest in the Pineville Cemetery June 20, 1967.
Graveside services were conducted by McCollum Funeral Home, Rev. John Pyles, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Calico Rock officiating.
Honary pallbearers were: Dr. Noil Copp, Gerald Shelton, Mr. Pleasant, Gene Pleasant, Wylo Pleasant, Kirby Smithson, Troy Smith, Joe Merchant, Bud Lucy, George Hicks, Ewin Lucy, Orfie Dee King, Jim Woody, J. C. Miller, Jimmy Miller and Joe Ward.
Pallbearers were: Andy Clyde Russell, Kenneth Russell, Bobby Russell, Ernest Guthrie, Paul Ward and Floyd Smith, Jr.
