SPRINGDALE — Delbert D. Baker, age 72, of Springdale, died Dec. 25, 2010, at the Earlene Howard Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born Aug. 27, 1938, in Wynne, Ark., the son of John D. and Carrie Mae Elliot Baker.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired press operator and farmer, and enjoyed playing the guitar, going to auctions and riding horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Stanley, Joe and Braden; and two sisters, Edna and Ethel.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Earlene Baker, of the home; two sons, Mike D. Baker and Sharon of Springdale and Marty D. Baker and Penny of Ozark; two brothers, J.D. Baker or Springdale and Phillip Baker of Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Erma Immel of Springdale; six grandchildren, Michael, Mitchell, Amanda, Sherita, Mason and Kelsie; and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Emma and Maddox.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Eldon Bagwell officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
