CARDWELL, Dick — Uncle Dick Cardwell was found dead Tuesday morning in the bed at the home of his son John Cardwell, near Zion, where he was making his home. He was over 80 years of age and had been in feeble health for the past few years. It was not expected that he could survive long, but his death was a great shock to his children as he did not appear to be any worse than usual when he retired Monday night. He died some time during the night. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Gearing Chapel Wednesday morning. The deceased was a member of the South Methodist Church, and had been a resident of this section for many years. He leaves four children, three sons and one daughter, the daughter being Mrs. W.M. Sweeney, and many friends.
