MRS. CARDWELL BURIED MONDAY

Wife of State Senator From Washington County Dies At Hospital Here

Funeral services for Mrs. Aquilla May Cardwell, 61, wife of Senator Wilson Cardwell of Springdale were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Zion church northeast of Fayetteville.

Rev. Karl McClendon of the Baptist church and Rev. E.H. Hook of the Methodist church at Springdale were in charge. Burial was in Zion cemetery. There was special music by choirs of both churches.

Pallbearers were: Honorary, John Combs, Homer Jarkson, John Nance, Cal Wilson, Hugh Reagan, E.B. Cummings, Ras Graham, Jeff Gover, M.L. Shuster, Jack Hewitt, L.A. Smith; active, I.R. Rothrock, Pat Johnson, Jeff Banks, Taylor Jones, E.S. Graham, Lockwood Searcy.

Mrs. Cardwell was born May 27, 1872, near Springdale. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Boyd and Mrs. Mary Boyd. She died at City Hospital Saturday night at 9:30.

Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: James Earl Cardwell of Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. A. Werff of Covington, Ky., Mrs. Blaine Houston of Cincinnati, Ohio, Clyde Y. Cardwell, Carl Otto Cardwell and M.G. Cardwell of Springdale. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Three sisters survive, Mrs. Mary Ivey and Mrs. Ed Ivey of Fayetteville and Mrs. Dora Frost of Springdale.
